What is BabyFirst?
BabyFirst is the new network dedicated to providing innovative programming designed to inspire baby's journey in the world. Supported by leading child development experts, our network is tailored to meet the needs of babies up to three years of age in a safe and inspiring commercial-free engaging environment. Our programming features original new content including “Rainbow Horse,” “Sandman,” and “I Can Sign” to name a few, as well as new tools that help parents better understand the focus of each program for their baby. BabyFirst transforms traditional TV into an interactive tool that provides a positive environment and an engaging experience for both parents and baby.
 
What type of programming or content does BabyFirst offer?

BabyFirst channel offers interactive programming for babies and their parents that is created by leading experts in child development, education and psychology. Viewers can enter a world of imagination and creativity, with original stories, characters and music that are designed to engage and delight. BabyFirst is designed to be an interactive co-viewing experience that gives babies and parents new opportunities to bond and explore with each other.

The channel’s content is specifically tailored to meet the needs of babies and toddlers, and features a safe and positive, commercial-free  environment. The program content focuses on areas of babies’ and toddlers’ development ranging from language and numbers to sensory play, creativity and even relaxing nighttime programming to soothe babies as they prepare for sleep.

What age group should watch BabyFirst?
BabyFirst is an interactive tool for parents to engage their babies and toddlers. Our content is specifically tailored to meet the needs of babies younger than three years and provides a safe, positive environment. For overall TV viewing, we recommend it is done in a balanced, responsible manner. Parental guidelines are available for download here.

BabyFirst features no commercials and no promotions at any time.
 
How does BabyFirst find and produce its content?

For over two years, we worked with many creators/producers to develop a rich library of original programming that would be safe and positive for children. BabyFirst’s content is supervised and supported by a worldwide Advisory Board comprised of leading child psychologists and development experts, including: BabyFirst Advisory Board:

• Dr. Edward McCabe, M.D., PhD, professor and executive chair of the UCLA Dept. of Pediatrics, and physician-in-chief of the Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA, President of American Pediatrics Society

• Reveta Bowers, head of school at The Center for Early Education

• Dr. Richard Woolfson, child psychologist based in London, author of several books on child development and family life including What Is Your Baby Thinking?, Bright Child and Bright Toddler, etc.

• Dr. Lynne Kenney, child psychologist and parenting expert

• Dr. Mary Ann LoFrumento, pediatrician and parenting expert, author of Understanding Your Newborn and Infant, and Understanding Your Toddler

BabyFirst is pursuing partnerships with British producers to create UK programming which reflects British culture, art and songs.
